Release Notes
Summary
Release Notes show changes relative to the latest official Beta (6.0.6.41837).
Breaking Changes
- Support for Ubuntu 18.04 is discontinued.
- Support for MacOS 11 is discontinued.
- Support for Raspberry OS 10 is discontinued.
- Support for MacOS 12 will be discontinued in the next major release (6.2).
Term Changes
- The term “System” is renamed to “Site”. This change will be applied across all products including VMS, Cloud, Mobile, and Connect.
New Devices / Operating Systems Support
- Raspberry Pi 5 with Raspberry Pi OS 12 (64-bit) is supported. Raspberry Pi Native camera is not fully supported yet.
- Windows Server 2025 is now supported.
New Features
- Enterprise (SaaS) Organization users can be managed in the Desktop Client.
- Enterprise users can share links to bookmarks. Links may have an expiration date.
- Enterprise re-streaming traffic between Sites allows streams from Sites in different Organizations to be viewed and processed.

New Event Rules Engine:
- Cleaner, more user-friendly interface.
- Event parameters can be passed dynamically to actions such as notifications and HTTP requests.
- Lists are introduced so actions can trigger based on listed or missing values.
- Rules can be searched by trigger name.
- Event Rule emails are localized.
- Bearer and Digest Authentication added to “Do HTTP request”.
- Custom headers can be configured for HTTP requests.
- Generic HTTP actions can send requests back to a Server within the Site.
- The “Shock Alarm” event is now instant instead of prolonged.
- The Desktop Client is rendered with Direct3D on Windows to reduce OpenGL-related issues.

Live View Subscription Service:
- Supports uninterrupted Live viewing in Enterprise / SaaS Sites.
- If insufficient Live View or Recording licenses/services are available, camera live streams are interrupted for 30 seconds every 10 minutes.
- Remote Access allows support engineers to connect to Site Servers through SSH, RDP, and similar tools without additional port-forwarding.
- A separate Audio Playback permission is introduced.
- Desktop Client web pages can open in a separate interactive widget.
- WebRTC streams can be added to Server.
- Servers can use Intel or Nvidia GPUs for hardware decoding.

Enterprise Improvements
- Maps are added as a default integration for all Enterprise users.
- Added a warning about license conversion when merging a Site into an Organization.
- User Management supports custom Site-level permissions for Enterprise users.
- Enterprise Sites without a custom SMTP server route emails through the Cloud Email server by default.
- Channel Partner users are shown in the Event Rules dialog.
- If a Site belongs to an Organization, that Organization is listed as an owner on the Welcome Screen.
- The “All Systems” filter in Notifications was replaced.
- I/O Port status is monitored.
- Cloud Connectivity is monitored by Servers through the new “Cloud Connect Issue” event.

New Server Recording Modes
- Exclusive: Server reads, writes, and erases data from all folders. Default for local storage.
